Political parties are important to Linkage institutions because political parties influence and have a big impact on how Americans vote on certain policies, laws, and candidates. Political parties recruit candidates that have similar beliefs that they do. They then promote and campaign the candidates to the public to try to get voters. I chose to write about the democratic party and their beliefs. The democratic party believes in big government, raising taxes, support more government spending on social services and less on our military. The democratic views are more liberal than conservative. Democrats believe in bigger government and higher taxes. They also believe that the Government should spend money on services that help the American people. I chose to write about the democratic party to get a deeper understanding of their political views. Also, to look at another point of view that is different from mine.
One main issue that the democratic party is focused on is gun violence. There have been disagreements on guns in Ameria between the left and right. In the United States, there has been an issue with guns and how they are being used. There have been mass shootings at schools, grocery stores, and many other public places. These shootings have caused disagreements between the left and right on how to deal with these fatal shootings. The left and right are polarized on guns and how to prevent gun violence. Democrats strongly believe in more stricter gun laws and regulations to protect people in America from gun violence. The Democratic party’s beliefs on stricter gun laws can influence there targeted audience. Their main audience is going to lean more to the left because they will most likely have very similar beliefs which will leave a big impression on them. Democrats use tragic events and stories of gun violence to get their audience’s attention. This helps them push their views to others by appealing to there emotions and making the audience sympathize with the victims of gun violence. They also use facts and data to show the number of deaths and accidents that happens when the wrong person gets ahold of firearms. While this party points out the dangers of firearms and their beliefs, they do not touch on how firearms can be used to protect your self and others when in danger.
Elizabeth Warren is currently a democratic presidential candidate in the 2020 election. Warren’s family struggled with money which made it hard for her to go to college. Even with this struggle she still managed to make it work and went to a commuter college in Texas. She later then went to a public law school. After her years in college, she became a law professor for six Universities. Elizabeth Warren got the opportunity to be Chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel during the 2008 financial crisis. During this time she was able to protect taxpayers. Elizabeth Warren is a strong believer in health care that is affordable for Americans. She uses this in her campaign and even talks about her Medicare for All Act that will help with all the medical expenses that families struggle to pay. Warren claims that is Act will cover all American’s bills because she belives that Health Care is a human right everyone should have access too. Warren also wants to Protect American Veterans and their families. She wants the Americans that served for this country to get the benefits they deserve. She plans on raising pay and helping family cover expenses for fallen soldiers. I chose to write about Elizabeth Warren because she has a very different political view then I do. I also do not know her background and her specific views on certain issues. She is also a candidate in the upcoming presidential election and I think it is important to know the candidates running and their perspective.
This artifact came from an article about Warren’s health Care plan that will allow universal health care. In this image, there is a sign says “Medicare for all Health care is a human right.” This artifact shows Warren’s views on health care. She wants to help the American people who are in debt due to medical bills. The words are in all caps with bold red letters. This shows the seriousness of the issue that it is. Her political beliefs would resonate with Americans struggling to pay for their health care.
